Coming to Glenfall for the first time?

What to expect:

You can get up to St Edward's Junior School through the gate on London Road (opposite the London Inn) and you will find parking on the left at the top of the drive. Head in through the main school entrance doors. You can also get to the school up Ashley Road (off Greenway Lane) where you will find a car park just inside the school entrance. We meet in the main dining hall.

The service starts at 10.30am but we serve coffee before (and during and after). People start to arrive from around 10.15am with many getting there just before start time. Most folk stick around for a while after the service to chat and catch-up.

Those leading the service tend to dress casually so that everyone else can feel relaxed enough to wear whatever they think is most appropriate. Some members are jacket and tie, some are shorts and t-shirt. Song words and any set spoken words (mostly only used during communion services) are projected on a big screen.

We tend to start with a couple of child friendly songs then a quick kid-focussed introduction to whatever topic they will be looking at later. After the children go out to their groups we tend to spend twenty minutes or so in sung worship led by one of our bands. Sometimes there is time for people to say a little something about what God is doing with them at the moment, sometimes we wait together and listen for what God might be saying to us. There is normally a talk for about twenty minutes before some prayer time and then the kids come back in before we finish sometime before midday.

If you are bringing children they are most welcome to go into the kids' church groups during the main part of the service or to stay with you throughout. Kids make noise, particularly young ones and that's fine - we have a lot of kids in the church!

We do a church lunch three times a year and newcomers' lunches once a quarter - ask Ashley for dates and more information. We also run a short 6 week Alpha course twice a year.

If you want to know anything please do just ask.
