Glenfall is linked to Trinity Church, Cheltenham, and as such is a part of the Gloucester diocese of the Church of England.
We have about 80 adult members of the church covering a wide age range and our worship on Sundays is of an informal nature - we have a band leading a time of worship, part of the service is aimed at involving the children before they go off to their activities, and we have family communion every other week. We always have a talk based on the Bible and we aim to be open to the Holy Spirit in all we do.
We have a growing concern for those who don't yet have a personal relationship with God through Jesus, we seek to put on a variety of events to which we can bring friends, and help them along the journey to faith. We run regular Alpha courses (see the diary page for details) to enable people to find out more about Christianity.
We are pleased to announce that our new leader at Glenfall is Ashley Collishaw. Since graduating from Wycliffe Hall, Oxford in 2005 Ashley has been curate at All Saints in Worcester, having to navigate the church through a number of changes and challenges. Ashley and Alex will bring a diverse set of experiences of life and the church. All of us that were able to meet with Ashley and Alex on the selection day are excited that they are coming, and look forward to serving with them in Glenfall.
Ashley will be licensed by the Bishop of Gloucester on 1st November, and he and his family will be moving to Cheltenham soon afterwards. The other members of the Leadership Team are Lyndsay Wyer, Angus Johnson, David Whale and Catherine Walker.
We very much believe in the value of small groups that meet midweek and encourage all our members to belong to one of these housegroups. They are a great opportunity to develop close supportive friendships, to study the Bible, worship and pray together, and to provide an accessible platform for our outreach among our neighbours and friends (see the diary page for details).
