Our values
Glenfall exists as a Christian community to worship, praise and follow the living God. We seek to worship in spirit and truth, reflecting an honest, contemporary, vibrant, creative and questioning faith.
Glenfall exists to nurture, transform, equip and empower its members. So that, in partnership with God we would be enabled, as a group and as individuals, to support and transform the lives of everyone we connect with: family, friend, colleague or stranger both locally in Cheltenham and elsewhere.
Values
We choose, accept, expect and seek certain things.
We choose to be:
followers; inspirers; lovers and adventurers
- followers of Jesus (not just believing in him)
living heroic, sacrificial, redeeming lives that bring heaven and earth together
- inspirers
- Spirit filled
- rooted in prayer
- revealing the way
- lovers
- valuing each other
- humble, caring, encouraging, healing
- assuming the best of each other and speaking out the best for
each other
- valuing difference, regarding diversity as Godly
- team builders: inclusive, allowing everyone to play and everyone choosing to take part
- serving: giving heart, mind, spirit, pocket and time
- adventurers
- take risks, change and have fun
- creative, prophetic. irreligious
- open to criticism (conflict is not ungodly and is often the creative process at work), it is OK to disagree
- honest, face to face and courageous
- agents of change
- brave enough to receive help when we need it
We accept that:
- the Bible is our ultimate reference point
- mess, tension and uncertainty are part of the Christian walk (we don’t have to pin everything down)
- we will only have as much authority as we are prepared to come under
- everything is grace – we don’t have to have everything sorted
We expect:
- God to act, actively giving opportunities for Him to move
- to see miracles, signs and wonders of the kingdom
- to encounter and experience the Holy Spirit (moving in the gifts he gives)
- to see lives transformed
- to see people come to know Jesus for the first time
- to grow in numbers
We seek:
- the presence of God
- the purposes of God
- the power of God
- the passion of God
